2001-02-18, The last day! No wind nor waves in the Table Bay area. But Bernd Flessner gives us a call that Platboom is working since the early morning. The last time for these trip I pack the car for the 100 km (one way) ride to the nature reserve at the end of the Cape Peninsula. The scenery is already crowded. The little bay has to hold about 80-90 windsurfers. Anyway we are able to run a special kind of duell. Bernd Flessner vs Andy Laufer. Bernd takes the starting heat and Andy goes next. "Konsul Laufer" is so satisfied with his first heat that he decides not to go for another one. Bernd takes a chance in a second heat. I am really wondering who will be the winner?!

So far this is the last duell for this competition. In the evening I am going to pack my stuff for the flight back to europe. In a couple of days the first video clips with the voting system will be online. Please send email if you want to get notified. Hope to see ya soon on this website!

The concept / rules for this time:we changed the whole thing to a "duell". Each contest is done by 2 competitors.

Heat duration: 7 min. with one man on the water at the time then rotating to the other. All repeated 3 times, so the Camera records totally 21 minutes of each rider. Changeing of boards and sails during the heats allowed. Each rider chooses 1 minute out of his recorded material. He determines the editing of his movie. So he is able to select the moves he thinks to be the best for his result. No special effects, except slow motion. No Repeats of moves nor editing of moves in a way where it looks like they are landed while in reality they are not. The video clips will be online after our standby period of 20 days. Around the 25th of Feb you will be able to vote for your favorite competitors. The result will be presented on this "web location". So tune in again.
