REPORT Day 4
2001-02-08, 09:30 finally
we slept in because there was no wind in the morning. After
a pankake breakfast I took a patrol down to Big Bay and
"3rd Stone" (the za name I am not able to remember)
and had a nice surf session for about 3 hours. Jürgen
and Henning showed up and everybody seems to be fine with
the calm and relaxing day. After having a fresh fruit lunch
I came home at 16:30. Lars got the latest reports from the
cape: 65 km/h wind speed and pretty nice waves! In about
ten seconds we packed the car and got into the traffic.
At 17:45 we arrived at the Cape National Park but unfortunately
they close at 18:00. With a U-turn and a hazardus drive
we got to Scarborough again. The winds did not reach the
predicted speeds but for a "beauty shot" session
it was rather o.k.
Tomorrow
we hope to run another duell again...
maybe Platboom or even Elands Bay migth work. Tune in again
to see what we got.

The
concept / rules for this
time:we changed the whole thing to a "duell". Each
contest is done by 2 competitors.
Heat duration: 7 min. with one man on the water at the time
then rotating to the other. All repeated 3 times, so the Camera
records totally 21 minutes of each rider. Changeing of boards
and sails during the heats allowed. Each rider chooses 1 minute
out of his recorded material. He determines the editing of
his movie. So he is able to select the moves he thinks to
be the best for his result. No special effects, except slow
motion. No Repeats of moves nor editing of moves in a way
where it looks like they are landed while in reality they
are not. The video clips will be online after our standby
period of 20 days. Around the 25th of Feb you will be able
to vote for your favorite competitors. The result will be
presented on this "web location". So tune in again.
