REPORT Day 9
2001-02-13,
Henning and Jürgen left for CPT the night before, Lars
and me stayed in the Elands Hotel. A really cool place to
be - we seemed to be only Guests. Unfortunately Lars injured
himself yesterday doing a Guscrew and I smashed my rips.
The winds have been so gosty - up to 55-60 knots. So Lars
won't go for an other duell. I and I hope to be able to
handle the water cam one more time...
We just got some work done and left for CPT around 15:30.
The winds again picked up and there was still a clean wave
to play with. Although we have been quiet unlucky with our
injuries Elands Bay was definetly worth going for.
For
the next couple of days the forecast for the Cpae area is
not that good but let's see what we will get.

The
concept / rules for this
time:we changed the whole thing to a "duell". Each
contest is done by 2 competitors.
Heat duration: 7 min. with one man on the water at the time
then rotating to the other. All repeated 3 times, so the Camera
records totally 21 minutes of each rider. Changeing of boards
and sails during the heats allowed. Each rider chooses 1 minute
out of his recorded material. He determines the editing of
his movie. So he is able to select the moves he thinks to
be the best for his result. No special effects, except slow
motion. No Repeats of moves nor editing of moves in a way
where it looks like they are landed while in reality they
are not. The video clips will be online after our standby
period of 20 days. Around the 25th of Feb you will be able
to vote for your favorite competitors. The result will be
presented on this "web location". So tune in again.
